Martha Walsh joined Charlotte Street Partners in 2017 as a Partner, after a 15 year career in the City of London working in finance and financial communications.
She started her career on HSBC’s corporate and investment banking graduate programme and spent several years in corporate banking before the lure of M&A took her into corporate finance and subsequently, to corporate finance boutique Lexicon Partners (now part of Evercore Partners). After enjoying working on M&A deals before and (perhaps less so) during the financial crisis, Martha joined leading financial PR agency Tulchan in 2010. Working across Tulchan’s FTSE 350 and alternative investment manager clients, she gained experience working on M&A projects from the communications angle, as well as financial reporting, fundraising, IPO, management change, crisis and restructuring.
Martha, a former competitive amateur rower, and now just an amateur rower, spent most of 2016 on secondment to a Tulchan client, BBA Aviation, working as interim head of investor relations and communications. At BBA, she managed a wide range of situations, including IR roadshows, sell-side consensus management and initiation, website rebuild and Annual Report revamp, acquisitions, disposals, integration and the related financial reporting intricacies.
